The Path Here Wasn’t Straight

Technical support for businesses that give a damn.

I went broke twice.

Irish countryside. Climbing trees, falling into streams.

School bullying incident at 14 → couldn’t play sports

→ discovered an Apple IIe instead → started programming.

That’s where my love of tech began.

30 years at Microsoft, Lotus, Siemens, Fujitsu, Swisscom.

Moving up fast.

Leaving when I couldn’t find my place in companies that existed mainly for profit.

I left that world twice.

I went broke twice.

When my daughter was born, I tried corporate again.

Three years.

One year not knowing what my job even was.

Two more as an outsider where people clung to knowledge like weapons.

I dreaded. every. single. workday.

THE TURNING POINT

Then it finally clicked:

Waiting for the “right” opportunity wasn’t a strategy – it was an excuse.

I started meeting people who showed me ethical business was possible. That if management, marketing, operations could be done humanely, so could tech.

I stopped waiting for permission to
reconcile my values with my skills and
started building the career I actually
wanted.

When my daughter was born, I tried corporate again.

Three years.

One year not knowing what my job even was.

Two more as an outsider where people clung to knowledge like weapons.

I dreaded. every. single. workday.

Why This Matters to You

Most WordPress experts are either tech enthusiasts (excited about every new plugin) or pragmatists (technology as a necessary evil).

I’m neither.

I see technology the same way you do: a tool that serves your mission. Nothing more, nothing less.

Your organisation exists to make the world better. Your website should help you do that, not become another source of stress.

I don’t need the latest tech to understand technology deeply. In fact, using older equipment forces you to understand how things actually work instead of just consuming what’s marketed to you.

This isn’t about me being “different.” It’s about me finally being honest about what I value and building a business that serves people who share those values.

How I Work Differently

Deep expertise → But I bias toward simplicity

40+ years experience → But I choose proven over trendy

I speak tech fluently → But translate to plain English

I know how to scale → But focus on sustainability

This isn’t compromise. It’s integration.

The same integration you live every day – using modern tools while questioning their impact.

Every Client Is a Vote

Every client I take on is a vote for the kind of world I want to build.

I’m done helping businesses that exist purely to extract profit.

If your organisation uses technology to create positive change… we should work together.
